The purple-brown heartwood has a handsome figuring of darker streaks and is well defined from the sapwood. The grain is narrowly interlocked producing a ribbon grain figure. Sometimes called Bombay Blackwood, the woods texture is uniform and moderately coarse. Without a doubt, one of the worlds most beautiful woods.

Working Properties: East Indian Rosewood is fairly hard to saw or machine. Sharp tools are a must. This Rosewood glues satisfactorily and polishes to an outstanding finish.
