The purple-brown heartwood has a handsome figuring of darker streaks and is well defined from the sapwood. The grain is narrowly interlocked producing a ribbon grain figure. Sometimes called Bombay Blackwood, the wood’s texture is uniform and moderately coarse. Without a doubt, one of the world’s most beautiful woods.
