Eucalyptus Grandis (Rose Gum)

Characteristics:  This exotic hardwood is also called Rose Gum Eucalyptus.  The sapwood of Rose Gum is pale pink and the heartwood is light to dark redish.  The wood is straight grained, coarse textured and moderatly strong.  This rapidly renewable lumber is both stable and beautiful.  Eucalyptus Grandis is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified as a smartwood product.  Wood products meeting this certification are recognized as coming from well managed forests adhering to strict environmental and socioeconomic standards.   

Common Uses:  Use for almost anything you would use most hardwoods for.  Exterior and interior furniture - joinery - paneling - boatbuilding - floor - veneer and many other woodworking projects.     

Working Properties:  Works well with machine and hand tools.  This hardwood saws cleanly, planes excellent and take all kinds of finishes well.  Screw holding properties are good and so are the gluing properties.
