Syringa Pen Blanks

Characteristics: This exotic and imported hardwood is from Africa. The wood’s color is yellow and reddish-yellow. The wood’s fine texture and interlocked grain can produce an attractive ribbon figure. Syringa is a very hard wood.

Common Uses: Flooring - turnery - furniture - artwork and mining timbers.

Working Properties: Syringa works well. It machines to a lustrous smooth finish. It also glues well. The wood turns quite nicely.

Tree is Native To: Syringa is also called Makarati. The wood grows in tropical Africa and South Africa.
